I have decided that I am a person who on the outside looks like he knows what he wants, yet on the inside is so confused. For one, take this site.

I choose to start my own website just a few months ago. It was great, at first. After time I got frustrated with the maintenance and having to troubleshoot so much. Well now it has gotten real bad. I am not able to log into the site and do ANYTHING! So I just want to throw my hand in the air and begin this new site. I do not care if I have my own website. I just want something that is easy to use and that communicates with the people I love.

So here it is, the new/old announcement that I have begun a new site, again!

I am not sure if I will be able to post picture galleries easily or do some “cool” things, but I am okay with that. I am sure that in trying to come back over to something “simple” I will not be overcome with trying to make my site be awesome.

Hey kids… ;-) Nice to be informed of the new blog and where to find it. Looking forward to seeing you guys in a month ish. :-) Love you both.

  2. Way to go on switching. I think WordPress just looks so much cleaner than any other option out there. Not to say that you didn’t do a great job making DNN look good, you did. But when it comes so easy and almost maintenance-free with WordPress, why settle for something like DNN?
Are you paying for css? Do it. It’s great. Once you get the css editability, switch your theme to one of the sandbox themes and click “view source” to see your ID and Class tags. It’s very powerful. And hey, it’s only 15 dollars a year, which is like $1.25 a month, so it’s no big deal. I mean, just drink a couple less sodas a month.
Love you man. Love the site.
For a great example of someone who has a domain, but switched to WordPress, go to http://www.missionmexicocity.org. This site was entirely built with a free WordPress account with the CSS editability fee, and he used a domain mask so that you would never know he made it with a free WordPress.
He, like you, got fed up with all the maintenance of having his own domain.
    Welcome to the future.
