Mid-Week Meandering #20: Back to the Real World

IMGP0242Hello dear friends and family who read our blog.

The last few months have been a little crazy and not in any sort of routine, so we apologize for not keeping you up to date on our lives more often than we have. Our goal is to continue the mid-week meanderings throughout the year, even though we are back in the States for a while.

IMG_0194Our six month internship in Mbale went very well, and we are now working on a way to go back and work there for a longer time. This will entail a lot of talking with churches, family, and friends who might be interested in partnering with us in our work in Africa. It is an exciting yet somewhat scary time for us now. There is a lot of relying on God to lead us, and a lot of waiting. We look forward to seeing how God leads us over the next few months.

Our time with family over the last month was such a blessing. We enjoyed every minute of it. We are so thankful for the wonderful families we have been blessed to be a part of.

As usual the time went way too fast in some regards, but either way we are now in Joplin settling into what will be our own home for the next little while. The unpacking is over and the apartment is beginning to feel like home. We have had the opportunity to visit with some of our really good friends, and we are enjoying one last week before school starts.

Next week will start the crazy life again of school, work, homework, church, smallgroup, oh yah, and sleep every once in a while. But don’t get me wrong, we are looking forward to it and know that God has some amazing things planned for this time. We both graduate this May, which we are thoroughly looking forward to! And then, we’ll see where God leads.

Well, that’s a brief overview of the last few months. For those of you who have been wondering, yes we are back in the States and will be at least until August, possibly longer. We love you all and appreciate your prayers for us.

God bless and have a wonderful weekend!

Joy and I are wonderful! Today we have a day of homework planned, which is alright. Last night we had our date night. We ate dinner at Panera bread and visited for a hour or so. Then we went to the mall and played about $3 worth of racing games.

I was going through my camera and realized I have forgotten to put up quite a few pictures of things. I am going to take this moment to put some up.

This is our back yard. As you can see we still had ice on the ground as of last weekend. What you see here was ALL ice, it just looks like snow.IMG_1474
This was our front steps. I could not keep the ice off. The steps became more of a sledding hill.

The ice has mostly melted. It took 2 days of warm weather to melt it all. Currently there is another storm heading our way in the next few days. I dread it.

This is a picture of my fellow co-worker and I working on a website.

That is all for pictures. I do have some prayer requests.

  • We have got a lot done in the past week in preparation for our upcoming trip. We got our International Drivers License and called to price tickets and we are getting more and more excited. Just pray that everything continues to come together.
  • There have been some complications on the building project in Uganda. Please pray that the progress may pick up next week.

I have to get back to homework.
