10,000 Need Teaching and Training in Africa

Teaching more than 10,000 believers and training the preachers of more than 500 churches sounds daunting doesn’t it? This is the task the Mbale Mission team (located in Mbale, Uganda) is facing. They want to use any resource possible to teach more effectively and train more relevantly. That is why Good News Productions, International’s tenth office is located on property the team gave to GNPI with the plan that the modern production facility would be available for their mission media needs.

The first video production from the GNPI-Mbale facility encourages new churches to not fall behind, and to get connected to the many resources available to them for solid biblical training and encouragement. The solar media cases are being used to distribute the Jesus film for evangelistic purposes along with other teaching aids. The newest video project, You Are Behind, will be required viewing when a solar media case goes out. This project speaks directly to the needs of these young churches in rural Africa. You Are Behind will be added to the list of thousands of projects that GNPI partners have helped to produce over the years. You are the reason that several million people around the world every month are impacted by Good News Productions, International.

The Mbale Mission team, led by Shawn Tyler, is an exciting missionary work in Mbale, Uganda. Church planting is the main thread out of which multiple ministries from benevolence (eye glass clinics) to leadership training (Messiah Theological Institute) have emerged. With 500 churches in four African countries to teach and train, the team decided to seize the power of media to accomplish their goals of church maturation as well as moving toward a new goal of starting another 500 rural churches in the next decade!

As a result, a partnership with Good News Productions, International was developed when property was given and a production facility built and staffed. This mission team sees GNPI providing the media they want and need to accelerate evangelism in their region of East Africa.

Travel and an Update

It has been a long time since I have updated this blog, I am not even sure where to start.

Lately Joy and I have been traveling a lot, I mean a lot. We have traveled about 2,000 miles in the last 4 weeks. Elias travels really well. He mostly sleeps and loves the speed bumps and rougher roads; it seems to soothe him.

This week we will be working from Mbale. I, Vince, am working on a video script for a video series called DASE (Digital African Studies by Extension). This is a five part video series. Each part will be about 15 hours. The first video will be focusing on the Life of Christ. We should be filming by the end of November.

Joy will be meeting with her Sign Language teacher this week. She has been learning a lot over the past few months. Her teacher says she is a quick learner.

Elias is loving life. He is about 5-6 months and about 17 pounds. We went to Kampala, the capital city about 4 hours away, last week to get him some shots. He was a real trooper and did not even cry for them. I was impressed.
